The certification page measures data from the last three or the last six months (depending on your pathway) and, as such, may fluctuate from day-to-day.
For example:
- On 12 July 2021, the page will pull data from 12 April - 12 July 2021 only; on 13 July, it will pull data from 13 April - 13 July, and so on.
- As a result, while the trainee may be logging more DOPS, the percentages on the certification page may nevertheless go down as the period being assessed changes.
Please note that, once new procedures are logged, the certification page will only update overnight. If you have logged new procedures and your KPI data is not what you would expect, please check back on the following morning.
The percentage for each KPI is calculated by number of procedures corresponding to the KPI measured, divided by the total number of procedures performed in a given time period. This time period varies across the different pathways: for OGD, Colon, Flexi and DAE, the time period is 3 months; for ERCP and EUS, the time period is 6 months. Thus, the denominator is a rolling metric based on the last 3 or 6 months of procedure data (according to the pathway), as opposed to a static metric based on total lifetime procedure count.
For example:
- On 12 July 2021, a trainee on the OGD pathway has logged a total of 130 procedures in the last 3 months, of which 114 have met the KPI measured. 114/130 = 87.7%
- On 13 July 2021, the trainee performs one more procedure where the KPI is met, bringing his total number of procedures in the last 3 months to 131, of which 115 have now met the KPI measured. 115/131 = 87.8%
- The percentage would only rise by 0.1%.
For trainees on the ERCP and EUS pathways, the same calculation model applies - with the sole difference being that 6 months of procedure data would be used to assess the KPI, as opposed to 3.
