There is no mandate that units should have a drying cabinet. Vacuum pack systems are seen as ideal solutions for safe transportation and storage in areas where they will not be regularly used.
It is imperative that all relevant type test data and variables on these systems are identified. For example, if the scopes need to be dried before packing then a drying cabinet will be required. It is also important to look at potential damage to instruments from packaging and 'coiling' over time. Please refer to HTM 01 06 part D (see link below) and they should ask any potential supplier to let them have information on users so that they can properly assess in practice.
