From 1 October 2024, any service applying for accreditation or reaccreditation will need to demonstrate that 10% of all healthcare professionals (including band 2-8) involved in the endoscopy patient pathway have completed both the ENDO1 e-learning module (provided by e-LfH) and the ENDO1 training course. This will increase to 25% from October 2025.
In anticipation of this change and to allow services to prepare, the JAG-accreditation standards were amended in April 2023 with the new standard appearing greyed out. Services will not be able to provide evidence for this standard until 1 October 2024. We strongly recommend that your staff start preparing for this change now.
This does not mean that you will need to meet this standard from 1 October. It will only apply from the date your service is next applying for (re)accreditation.
The JETS Workforce team are currently running a high volume of virtual ENDO1 courses. If you anticipate your accreditation date will be coming at the end of the year, and you are yet to meet this standard, please find the course booking page here for dates available.
Many services and academies are also running face-to-face ENDO1 courses with trained faculty; please contact your local leads to enquire if this is available in your area. You may find a list of local training centres here.
Competency Framework
Please note that the competency framework will not be included in the mandate for services applying for standard (re)accreditation. If your service is applying for level A accreditation, however, then the mandate will include Level 1 competencies, meaning that your staff members will need to complete all Level 1 competencies, alongside the ENDO1 e-learning and training course.
